Pianist Miwako Takeda graduated and had the master's degrees from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and later the University for Music and Performing Arts, Munich, before further study at Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Miwako Takeda won the 2nd prize at Japan Music Competition for young pianists in Tokyo, the 3rd prize and the special medal at Maria Canals International Music Competition in Barcelona 1998, the 3rd prize at G.B.Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli 1998, and various prizes at numerous international competitions including Palma d'Oro International Music Competition, International Piano Competition in Rome, International Competition for Piano and Orchstra in Mazara del Vallo, Mavi Marcoz International Piano Competition, and Ennio Porrino International Piano Competition. Takeda has appeared as a soloist with Orchestra Sinfonica RAI di Torino, Romanian Symphony Orchestra, and Sapporo Symphony Orchestra and so on. She received acclaim for her performance of Mozar t from I. Haebler, the world authority, and from P. Lang. Takeda released CDs 'cantando-angelico' (PAMP-1025) and 'Miwako Takeda plays Liszt' (PAMP-1031). Takeda is faculty member of Ueno Gakuen University.
