Pianoduo Miwako Takeda & Nobuhito Nakai

Nobuhito Nakai and Miwako Takeda are notably considered Japan’s foremost piano duo. Both pianists are prize winners of international piano competitions (Brahms, Maria Canals, Viotti Senigallia to name a few) on their own right formed a duo and successfully became prize winners of M.Dranoff International Two Piano Competition (U.S.A.) and in addition, husband and wife. The only couple in Japan to be bespectacled with competition prizes of WFIMC World Federation of International Music Competitions for both piano solo and duo added the honor of being chosen as the recipient for the best choice CD by ‘Record Art Magazine’ for “Dvorák / From the New World” and “Fantasie” on air in ANA flight entertainment.They performed and teached MusicAlp International Music Festival and Academy in France and Jirisan International Music Festival in Korea.

Nobuhito Nakai graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and finished graduate school also, after that finished meisterclass at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich on a scholarship of DAAD, He studied with Prof.Ueda, Prof. Oppitz, Prof.Kaemmerling.Nakai won the prize at many competitions, Music Competition of Japan, Johannes Brahms International Music Competition, International Piano Competition ‘Citta di Senigallia’, G. B. Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli. He is a professor, chair of piano faculty and dean of Toho Gakuen College of Music, and a guest professor of Nagoya College of Music. He is a guest professor at Music Hochschule Detmold in Germany in winter season 2022.

Miwako Takeda graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and finished meisterclass at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. She studied with Prof.Ueda, Prof. Höhenlieder , Prof.Kontarsky.Takeda won the prize at many competitions, Maria Canals International Music Competition, G. B. Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli, etc. She is a faculty member of Ueno Gakuen University and Toho Gakuen College of Music.
